Last minute guide to achieving a beach body in June

Psst, I have a secret. Everybody has a beach body, who decides to go to the beach. So don't feel the pressure, and most importantly don't care about what others are thinking, because it is only in your head.

June, the month when we collectively realize that "beach body" season is upon us and that last year's promise to stay fit over the winter was, well, overly ambitious. But fear not! It's never too late to start working towards that beach body, even if it’s already June. Here’s a funny and quick guide to getting you in shape before you hit the sand.

1. The great closet purge

First things first, dig through your closet and find that swimsuit. You know, the one you bought last summer with high hopes. Try it on and let it motivate you. If it fits, great! If not, consider it a new workout challenge: Operation Fit-Into-Swimsuit. Or simply buy a new one.

2. Hydrate like a fish

Step away from the soda and sugary drinks. Your new best friend is water. Drink it like it’s going out of style. Pretend you’re a fish or a supermodel with an expensive hydration routine. Bonus points if you add lemon slices and call it “detox water” or mint leaves and it can be a "godess mojito".

3. Get moving, literally anywhere

You don’t need a gym to get fit. Got stairs? Perfect for impromptu cardio sessions. A living room? Yoga time! The world is your gym. And remember, house cleaning burns calories too, so you can finally justify that intense spring cleaning session.

4. Embrace the green life

Time to make friends with salads. But we’re not talking about boring old lettuce and tomatoes. Jazz it up with colorful veggies, nuts, seeds, and your favorite dressing. Just avoid the temptation to drown it in ranch; we’re going for “light and fresh,” not “vegetable soup.” Add fruits if you like and don't forget about the protein. Try fermented veggies, pre- and probiotics help with better digestion and a flat tummy.

5. Snack smart

Swap those chips for something healthier. Carrot sticks, hummus, nuts, snacks that make you feel virtuous. If you absolutely must have that chocolate, go dark. It's sophisticated and practically a health food, right? It is made of a bean so technically it's vegetable.

6. Cardio fun: dance like nobody’s watching

Find your favorite upbeat playlist and dance like nobody's watching. Whether it's in your living room or while vacuuming, just move. It's fun, burns calories, and you get to bust out those dance moves you’ve been practicing in the shower.

7. Incorporate quick workouts

Don’t have time for a full workout? No problem. Do squats while brushing your teeth, calf raises while waiting for your coffee to brew, and planks during commercial breaks. Every little bit helps! Be creative.

8. Channel your inner chef

Cooking at home is not only healthier, but it also allows you to control what goes into your food. Experiment with new recipes, make meals colorful, and keep portion sizes reasonable. Plus, there’s a certain satisfaction in saying, “I made this.” Get some inspiration on my page.

9. Sleep like a baby

Don’t underestimate the power of sleep. Get your 7-9 hours to help your body recover and keep your metabolism in check. Create a bedtime routine that involves less screen time and more relaxing activities like reading or meditating. Think of it as your nightly recharge.

10. Stay positive and have fun

Finally, keep a positive mindset. Getting fit doesn’t have to be a chore. Celebrate your progress, no matter how small. Enjoy the journey, laugh at the inevitable mishaps, and remember that confidence is your best accessory on the beach.

The beach awaits

So there you have it: a quick guide to getting that beach body in June. Will you be a ripped Adonis or goddess by the end of the month? Maybe not, but you’ll definitely be healthier, happier, and ready to hit the beach with confidence. Now, go out there and rock that swimsuit.
